Blueberry Shoe: Story by Ann Dixon - Illustrations
by Evon Zerbetz.
"Not
since the classic Blueberries for Sal has there been such a charming

Ten Rowdy Ravens: Story by Susan Ewing -
Illustrations by Evon Zerbetz.
Ten ravens set out on a lark. As the pages turn, they steal pretty
pearls, picnic in a pickup truck, and pull a predator’s tail.
Scenarios are fanciful but rooted in ravenhood: collecting shiny
things, testing curious objects, getting into garbage, and showing
off. The adventures take their numbers down to 1, and they reunite
to play the game all over again.

Little Red Snapperhood: Story by Neal Gilbertsen
- Illustrations by Evon Zerbetz.
"Once upon a maritime..." begins this underwater twist
on the classic. Red snapper dons her favorite squid tasseled hat
and sets out to grandmother's home with a fresh-baked octopi.
Red meets up with the Wolf eel in the kelp forest
and again in Grandma's oyster bed with an amiable surprise ending.
Full of fishy puns and details for sharp eyes, Little Red Snapperhood
is a fun romp under the ocean.

Kitaq: Story by Margaret Nicolai - Illustrations
by Dave Rubin.
As
he reached for another pancake, Kitaq heard the crunch-crunch of
footsteps outside in the cold, dry snow. Then stomp-stomp on the
porch and creak as the outer door opened. As soon as his grandfather
appeared in the doorway, Kitaq raced to his side,
"Apa, I am big now. Today will you take me
fishing in the ice?"
"Son, you must let Apa in, and let him take off his atkuk
(parka)," said Aana gently.
Kitaq remembered that young people did not address
elders unless spoken to. He looked down at the floor and went back
to the table.
